End of Year Thoughts

As we approach the end of the 2016 we reflect as a business on our achievements this year. We have seen significant growth in sales, as well new corporate client transferring their accounts to us, new technology and support systems, and some great Captains coming on board.

We have received consistent praise and some fantastic comments from customers and yacht Owners. I am proud of the high standards that our Captains constantly maintain.

With our minimum marketing budget we have grown through repeat business and referrals. Customers have been very happy and positively active to promote our services to others that will benefit.  This is particularly satisfying and means we can look forward to continued growth in 2017. In deed we have already received spread sheets from more than one fleet operator with their delivery schedules for next year.

So we will start 2017 with enthusiasm and much activity.

On that note it is time for me to log off now and catch the train to the Paris Boat Show .

If you would like any further information on what we do and how, please visit our website at www.reliance-yachts.com.

Merry Christmas and Prosperous New Year

When a Catamaran Has to Go by Road

It was a major logistical and technical challenge for our colleagues at Sealand  to move the survey catamaran PROTEUS through the Scottish hills on her way from the North Sea to the Clyde.

They made it look easy moving 23 tonnes 14m x 4.95m x 4.23m high. Thehulls balanced on three steel plates 19mm thick and laid across the extended bed of a low trailer only 300 millimeters off the road.

Sealand is one of the leading road hauliers specialising in this mode of transport. Relaince has worked with over the years offering clients a seamless multi modal delivery service

When an Owner Becomes Delivery Crew

When Carlos bought his Fountaine Pajot 60 Eleuthra he contacted Reliance Yacht Management to deliver her, but he had a special request.

Despite no previous experience of catamarans, Carlos wanted to be part of the crew. He also wanted his two sons to join him on the delivery from La Rochelle to New York. This set some particular challenges to Reliance Yacht Management in managing the delivery and finding the right captain for the job. Fortunately Reliance was able to schedule leading Delivery Captain Nic Boutteloup.  Nic had the right temperament, communication skills and big catamaran experience.

How Did That Cat Get There?

You’ve decided to buy your first catamaran. That’s great – well done.  Two thirds of the earth’s surface is covered by water, You are now able to see more of the planet than ever before and much more than walking, or by car, or even flying. There are many reasons why people buy catamarans, to cruise, to race, to explore, to relax, to charter out, to live aboard and a good broker will advise what is best for you. Along with yacht ownership comes certain responsibilities and requisite services such as insurance, finance and moorings. These are obvious and will come as no surprise, and many will already have at least a minimum understanding of them. The one service that is often overlooked, mis-understood and often forgotten about, almost until the sale is made, is the delivery.
