When a Catamaran Has to Go by Road

It was a major logistical and technical challenge for our colleagues at Sealand  to move the survey catamaran PROTEUS through the Scottish hills on her way from the North Sea to the Clyde.

They made it look easy moving 23 tonnes 14m x 4.95m x 4.23m high. Thehulls balanced on three steel plates 19mm thick and laid across the extended bed of a low trailer only 300 millimeters off the road.

Sealand is one of the leading road hauliers specialising in this mode of transport. Relaince has worked with over the years offering clients a seamless multi modal delivery service
